Proud sponsors of the Australian Lawyers Cricket Council

This is the first tournament to which Australia is sending two teams. Australia's squad is made up of 34 legal practitioners, who are natives of New South Wales, Queensland, Australian Capitol Territory, South Australia and Western Australia.  The 1st XI is almost exclusively compromised of current and former state representatives, one former Australian A player and current or former first grade players. The 2nd XI team has a less competitive, more social aspect to it.

The Australian Lawyers Cricket Council was established by a group of like-minded Australian legal practitioners to promote the rule of law throughout the Commonwealth, by using cricket as an opportunity to meet regularly at different locations and to interact with legal practitioner friends from elsewhere. The motto for the International Lawyers World Cup tournament is "Cricket for Friendship".

Previous tournaments have been held at Hyderabad, India (2007), England (2009) and Barbados (2011). Australia is due to host the next tournament in January 2016.
